i love this fruit! i wonder where i can find it here in US and when is the season so i can look for it @ the right time. Im from Boston if anybody could give me a clue i’d truly appreciate!

We grow jackfruit (at least, 2 trees of it). We have a grove in the Redland (not California, but South Florida — it’s near Homestead). We have avocados & lychees, but when a few lychees died we put in 2 lovely jackfruit, & boy do they fruit nicely.

Well — we know how to cut & eat the ripe ones — (we loved your video). But I would like explicit instructions on what to do (recipe-wise & extraction-wise) w/ 3 large (more than 35 lbs one of them) UNRIPE jackfruit that were cut down by the people topping the lychees!!! Hey, that might make a cute video. You’re welcome to come here & film it.

Jackfruit is one of my fav fruits!! This episode reminds me of when my mom and sis trying to open up the fresh jack fruit last month. My sis and I was anxious to open it up, it’s been a long time since we had a fresh jackfruit, we went ahead to open it before my mom got out of the bathroom. Well…we should’ve waited bc we got the sticky glue all over ourselves. Everything we touched, we couldn’t let it go, it was still attached to our hands. We laughed at ourselves, and watched our mom taking over the process. We surely learned our lesson. Use oil!!

Donation complete! I have looked at Jackfruit several times at the market but even at $.39 a pound I was not going to just try it blind, what if it had to go to waste because I didn;t know what I was doing.

Oh you two! That was the funniest video by far! I cannot believe how huge that Jack F is! Just promise me that you two will be extra careful riding around – I don’t trust drivers Love the Jack Fruit surgery and dissection techniques! Kaweah got excited when she heard me laughing so hard watching the video! yum!!

btw, i love that photo of jackfruit its sooo mouth watering!! i love this fruit, everytime im in philippines i see to it that i have some. I just normally eat them as it is..never tried making some dessert out of it ..

Such a great cause! I loved the video, but I was afraid you were going to fall of the back of the motorcycle. I also love jack fruit, but always buy it already peeled. Thanks for the tip about oiling everything.

GREAT video you two! Love the music sync with the photos. I have never had Jack F. but you made it look easy, aside from mounting that bike, and it sounds tasty (the Jack F), will have to look for it out here, I believe I have seen them in little China town.

Did you use the mics? Let us know how they are working.
