For those of you who don’t know about our photography section yet, we just posted a new video about food photography with speedlights. We’re giving you a sneak peak into our kitchen at night! You can see how we photograph some of our step-by-step recipe shots with speedlights.
If you haven’t seen the video yet, head on over to our photography blog for the Food Photography with speedlights video!

Thanks for the video and the tip… I try to shoot in natural light but that’s not always possible = )
So spiffy – hopefully this will give you some options for when you don’t have natural light. have fun!
It’s good to see you guys in real life action. It’s been a pain cooking and shooting in daylight this winter. I have tried night photos, but decided they looked like garbage, so I have taken the extra time to prepare the food during the day. Honestly it’s waaaay too much work! Thanks for showing me it can be done at night right. This will save me some serious time later.
Chelsey- Like everyone else, we cook at night and don’t want to spend too much time in setting up the shot. The speedlights are great cause they allow us to share what we cook at night. Hope you get to play with speedlights soon.
I love your photography. I read all the photography posts I can but unfortunatly all I have to work with right now is a cheap point and shoot.
Ed- work with what you have. We hope to be able to share some of our p&s tips later on for you.
Enjoyed the video — thanks!
Love your blog!
What a great tutorial
I see we are taking photos exactly the same way… most of the time I’m not getting nice day light here in London as well so for me speed lights are life savers.
It’s so generous of you guys to put together these tutorials. Your site looks fantastic!
Cheers.
Love this! Thanks so much.
