Pomegranate Cosmo

by White on Rice Couple on November 6, 2008

Our pomegranate’s are bursting open, so it’s Autumn cocktail time. Usually it’s always glass of red wine or a classic Sidecar for our midnight cocktail. It sometimes takes a drink or two to help us wind down after a days session of bitching customers at work. Ahh! Now we can treat ourselves to the anticipated pomegranate cocktails (or two) now that those suckers are bursting open with sweet flavor. The timing is just perfect, since the crazy holiday retail rush will soon commence and so we are really looking forward to this pomegranate indulgence. Trust us to savor each fruit at a time so that it’ll last until Christmas.

Pomegranite Cosmo Cocktail recipe

A good cocktail should have a nice balance between the ingredients and elements, in this case, of sweet & sour. We were out of citron vodka (a classic for a traditional cosmo), but regular vodka tasted quite good in this one. We’ll just have to make more when we get citron vodka again.

Ingredients

2 oz. Pomegranate juice
1/2 oz lime juice
1 oz triple sec
1 1/2 oz vodka

Combine in a shaker, add small ice cubes or chunks, shake for about 20 seconds. (Don’t be lazy. Shake the full time as this chills properly & adds the right amount of water. Your cocktails will be better.)

Repeat for those worthy. This first one’s yours.

I really enjoyed the video. Your generous commentary and encouragement about gardening has further inspired me to tackle my humble garden in this urban oasis of New York City.

I wish you both the best.
